I have a client who is using phplib for database abstraction. Currently,
they are using MySQL, running on the webserver. They want to switch to
using their existing Microsoft SQL Server 7 cluster for the database. I
have been able to turn up three possibilities for making it connect:
1. Use the alpha opensource tdserver.
2. Use the Sybase client.
3. Use ODBC.
Alpha products are not ideal for production systems. Sybase isn't the
first choice since it isn't opensource. ODBC decreases performance and is
usually cantankerous, in my experience.
Are there any other (better) ways to do this that I am missing?
This may be more of a php question than a phplib question. My apologies if
I'm too far off-topic.
