[phplib] Problem with getting mysql to connect. From: Eric Naujock (naujocke <email protected>)

I am trying to get phplib to connect to mysql database. I get the following error back from mysql.

Warning: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in db_mysql.inc on line 73
Database error: pconnect(localhost, ****, ****) failed.
MySQL Error: ()
Session halted.

I can use the same username and password combo to get in and manage the database from numerous other utilitis. I am looking for suggestions or tips to find and fix the error I may have. I have already verified the username and password as bing correct.

The version of phplib is 7.2b
