Our company thinks PhpLIB still has excellent value although the PHP4.x
session_management methods render some of PhpLIB redundant.

Of course, it makes much sense to incorporate many PhpLIB features directly
in PHP. The writing was on the wall long ago that a PhpLIB for PHP4.x should
be created.

We have had success modifying (removing) register/thaw/freeze mechanisms and
replacing with PHP4.x session methods. But this is like installing a Ferrari
engine in your favorite cargo van.
