Surely not many care about it, but for me this is surely a source of
great happiness (and in fact, I almost immediately jumped in php-
pear list... greetings to all people in there...).

I invested much in PHPlib, and I built on it a good deal of my work.
I like its way of building things (although the first impact was a little
hard).

In the last months, PHPlib development was starting to slow
down... I always though of it as a symptom of "maturity", not
"decadence", but I feel that this fusion could both relive PHPlib
development and jumpstart PEAR's one.

To me, PEAR has always seemed really attractive, but it never
quite grasped me, mostly because I found difficulties in finding info
about it. Surely I'm also biased on this, so PEAR people please
don't roast my butt... now I'm gonna sit down quietly doing all the
RTFM that I can (feel free to point me to all available docs about
PEAR!), and I eagerly wait for the chance to constructively
contribute to this project...
