NO! I certainly don't want PHP to become the next perl. That's why I
believe we need to "over-engineer" PEAR now so that it doesn't grow into the
vast huge thing CPAN is. We need to make sure that, if needed, it can grow
to the size of CPAN, but still be manageable and understandable.

I am certainly preaching to the wrong list here..

In a slightly different tangent.. I think it might be handy to setup a
phplib-pear-port list so discussions like this can happen without chasing
away the fine phplib users who just wanna know how to make sessions work
right with ie5.
