Yikes, that "half-finished workplace" seems to have _many_ changes
relative to release 7.2c. Many files have moved to new sub-directories
under php/, and a quick scan makes it look like there's an attempt to
have PHP4 versions of the session code.

The 'php-lib-stable' module (there doesn't seem to be any
'phplib-stable' module) is very close to release 7.2c, but does have a
few changes since then.

So now I'm a bit confused about how to proceed. It looks like you
created php-lib-stable as a snapshot of PHPlib at about the time of
release 7.2c, while continuing to make extensive changes to the main
'phplib' module. Then (I assume) you all decided to abandon work on
PHPlib, leaving the new code half-finished.

My commitment has been to add a few useful bug-fixes as a simple
extension of release 7.2c, and I am not interested in picking up
half-finished work that others (who presumably knew it well) decided to
abandon. So I plan to make changes to the 'php-lib-stable' module and
not to 'phplib', as the basis for a possible 7.3 release.

What do others think about this, particular anyone else who plans to
actually contribute to a 7.3 release?
