OK, sue me. I didn't look closely enough, there seem to be stubs for
expand / collapse ($t->pk ?) in the classes. Is there an example which I
can try out somewhere?

That problem is still there. I need to figure out what elements
tree_template actually displays and select only _those_ from tree_sql.
