Heh heh, it's heartening to see the big corporations moving down this
route... :-))

Unfortunately, it seems to me that the only way Oracle is going to get a
look in is if we build it ourselves. I'm having similar issues here with
getting proper OCI8 functionality.

The only way the open source movement can keep going is for people to
contribute (or for corporations to invest in it).

We're currently writing a system to allow remote queries on our database
using PHP4, Apache 1.3, various flavours of Unix and Oracle 7
The documentation says that Oracle functionality is limitted. Is there a
list somewhere of which functions don't work with Oracle?
I see the latest (beta) downloads are from July 2000. Is PHPLib still
being developed / maintained?
