RE: [phplib] Beginners questions about PHPLib From: wsheldah <email protected>

I meant to send this message to the entire list. (Sorry, Chris.) So here it
is; see my questions below.

Off-topic, regarding reply-to: -- I have to agree with the sentiments expressed
in the URL someone posted, essentially asking that reply-to list behaviour not
be munged. Unfortunately, I'm stuck using Lots Notes at the moment, which
doesn't seem to have the 'reply to all ' feature. Mutt has some nice features
to help it interact with lists though, and it's based on elm.

That's good news. Now, since you're working on 7.2d, does that mean there's a
stable 7.2c hidden somewhere? According to the "main" (dead?) web site, the
last stable was 7.2b, with 7.2c in beta as of last summer. I've only been
trying phplib for a day or two, and I'm already being bitten by bugs,
particularly in template.inc. And it doesn't seem to use php4 sessions, though
I'm not entirely sure which is better.

Is there still an effort to merge phplib with pear? Or has that project run out
of steam as well? pear.php.net doesn't even seem to be offering any version of
pear to download. It's almost enough to make a guy junk it all in favor of
something like HTML::Mason, but I'd love to hear any reasons to stick it out.

Yes, PHPLIB is still being developed and maintained, but not by the
original developers and not with the intensity and devotion to time and
effort as earlier. That is, we the users, as with all good open source
projects, are doing it. More precisely, a number of us have volunteered
to work on a 7.2d release.
