This article has some good points, but it doesn't acknowledge that group-reply will mail a spurious copy to the author of the replied-to post, unless you manually edit him/her out of the recipient list, which I personally think is a pain, guess where, to do.
The problem of losing information about the sender can be circumvented by adding an X-Original-Reply-To header, or similar. And why not, now that we're in the munging business.
The best of both worlds would be mail-client functionality to reply to the receiver, i.e. the address in the To: header.
So I guess I should get a mailer with an API. Or code one myself. Or live with the pain (most likely).
