Thanks Darryl - you gave me the clue necessary! A quick search of the
phplib-dev archive with _different_ keywords to those I used before turned
up the fact that there is a bug in template.inc version 1.3. The solution
is to upgraded to 1.5 of template.inc - it all works perfectly. I really
must get to grips with CVS now!!!
