Hi everyone,
**Not strictly PHPLib, but I though I'd "lash out" and try this list, too.**
I've got a site with a cruddy ISP who don't have ping for non-root users, but I
need to test $GLOBALS["REMOTE_ADDR"] to make sure people aren't setting it to
"123.popsickle" or something. (I know, I know, $REMOTE_ADDR isn't perfect, but
this script isn't either :)
So, an idea is to ping it and see if it wiggles, or bounce the user straight
away if it don't. (Again, I am aware of routing problems etc. This is just to
catch the script kiddies--I don't mind "false positives").
So, has anyone got some PHP ICMP-socket code they could dust off and throw my
way?
Thanks in advance,
