It is a huge set of middleware that speaks to mainframe TP monitors like
CICS, via some other midleware called Tuxedo, which offers a EJB wrapper
component, JOLT, that helps design methods that mutuate services from
the legacy big iron to app server, to web server, in a multi-multi tier
architecture
Also has middleware components to acces legacy Databases, Oracle, DB2
not sure.

It is something that banks and govt institutions, that are burden with
scalable-clustered-reduntant-etc-NT frontends, usually install when
tehy want to modernize (read webify) typical TP monitor applications
running on CICS, IMS etc, without changing them

Needs always the *next*, nearly to come, release of everything, included
JDK 1.4 ;-))
