Re: [phplib] Thoughts about Auth merging to PEAR From: giancarlo pinerolo (ping <email protected>)

I went to pear.php.net. It's almost *empty*! Now I realize that.
There is, apart from a lesson on coding style which means nothing,
a chapter on error handling.
get_var or getVar... come on!

Now I understand Nathan when he says it's not time yet.

Anyway, from the debate held yesterday al the pear ml, i read for
example that someone would be interested in importing the perm scheme,
which is in fact the only 'pluggable', abstract thing in the 'session
block' of features (sesssion,auth,user,perm).

For this reason I thought you were speaking of auth as a separate thing
from session...

I think we should need some documentation on the new session4 features,
differences, comparison, possible migration paths, pro & cons of them
etc.

I will tamper Maxim and try to put down a quick ref on these.

I wonder if we could imagine a better design for the default_auth, or a
way to do without it but keeping the functionalities.

I think, when it's time, we should start to port the minimal versions of
the 'session block' to PEAR, and then extend them.. not jump onto PEAR
and abandon PHPLIB.
