I had promised that I will post any gotcha's that occur in my trying to
run the above config. First the good news - it works !! Now the gotcha's
1) I did not know how to create table from the file
create_database.msaccess95 given under stuff directory with all the BEGIN
TABLE stuff etc - I would be glad if someone can tell me how to export
such a file and how to import the same under M$ Access
2) The ImplicitCommitSync option of the ODBC setup (reached from
configure>advanced, when you create the DSN) has to be set to "Yes"
Otherwise the things like insert/update dont work properly
3) PHP version 4.0.5 did not work at all PHP version 4.0.6 works fine
(now dont ask me why I tried on 4.0.5 when I laready started with 4.0.6)
4) Also most Windows servers run PHP as CGI so setting things like
include path, auto prepend could not be set using .htaccess file, luckily
I have access to the php.ini file on the target server. Have not tried
doing an explicit require() on every page
Hope this helps someone save some time
Cheers
Tarique
