Say what? People who fork are either pissed off at the project
management, the code isn't being maintained at a good enough level for
the users, or people are just clueless and start a fork 'cause they don't
wanna contribute / don't think they can / never actually think about it.

In terms of PHPNuke, I think it's been a cycling of one of the three for a
long time.

Jealousy, I think, isn't really a major factor. Maintaining a fork of
something, espically to do it well, is a hell of a lot of work just to
make your ego feel better. I'm sure some Darwinian rules of nature will
work out those who soley fork for personal profit.
