Just a little tidbit on this particular point...

If you configure PHP with "--enable-trans-sid" PHP will ensure that sessions
work for all users regardless of whether they have cookies on or not.
enable-trans-sid will pass the session ID automagically for you if cookies
are turned off on the client's browser. This is a very nice feature that
many people forget about when they talk about PHP and sessions.
