Yes you can.
It will require a bit of work on your part, but see http://www.freetds.org
for details. They have a description of how to build PHP against their
libraries.
I'm doing this now from a pair of FreeBSD boxes. It works well for the most
part, but there seems to be an issue with update queries that I've not yet
been able to track down.
