[PHP-INST] mac os 10.1.4 textedit help From: carrot (carrot.juice <email protected>)

hello

i am running os 10.1.4 and downloaded php4.1.2 (i think) and i am having a
few truobles, i have followed the instructions on php.net and got stuck on
number 4, this is where i have to do this; sudo open -a textedit
/etc/httpd/httpd.conf , i have done this and the httpd.conf file opens in
textedit i then remove the two hashes on the necessary lines and then try to
save, but text edit does not allow me to do so!!! i get a message saying
"couldn't save, textedit could save to directory /etc/httpd/httpd.conf",

if anyone has an idea how to solve this please tell me , it is very
frustrating
