Ultraedit (www.ultraedit.com) is favored by a lot of people, including myself.
Compared to textpad, it has customizable sytax coloring, a nice tabbed
interface, and awsome handling of very large files. (I do a lot of log file
analysis.) The only thing it doesn't do as well as textpad is regular expression
search/replace.
