Yes, yes, yes ... :)

I think we all agree that conforming to W3C's official HTML standard is a
Good Thing (tm) to do, and will probably save yourself from re-coding
headaches if/when new versions of browsers come out.

I think the original post (so long ago ...) was something to effect of "The
validator says the PHP site is broken, so you should fix it". To which my
first response is "And you are?" If you can see the site, then what's the
problem? If you can't see the site (and I mean "you" the person, not "you"
the validator), then tell me and I'll look into fixing it.

My second response is "If it means *that* much to you, fix it yourself".
Ah, the joys of OpenSource!

I've got other things to do (don't we all). So why should I spend my time
fixing something that isn't broken, just because someone says a validator
"doesn't like" the code?
