Well, you won't be able to use the apxs mechanism. But, read through
INSTALL.DSO and use the non-apxs mechanism. There were however some
serious problems in Apache's DSO support in versions prior to 1.3.4, so I
am not sure how reliable this thing is going to be. If you said it worked
for you before, then maybe you will be ok.
