[PHP3] "Bad handshake" MySQL error... From: Howie Oakes (hoakes <email protected>)

Hello-

I have a cron job that is running every hour...it just writes a text file
from a mysql db.
every once and a while I get mail from cron:

<br>
<b>Warning</b>: Bad handshake in
<b>/usr/home/test/create_control_dat.phtml</b> on line <b>12</b><br>
Unable to connect to SQL server

any ideas?
