I hate to say this.. but if you don't know how to program, you
shouldn't be trying to program this yourself. If you want example
code or possible solutions, try a search for mail on freshmeat.net,
etc.
In the meantime, if you're serious about learning a language, go
through the PHP docs, or find a course on C or Perl. Start with the
easy examples and go on from there. I've realized, through learning
PHP myself, that the only really hard part about PHP is regex, and
that's hard anyhow :) The rest of my programa are usually a lot of
variable assignments and some database calls sprinkled in, with some
filesystem interaction here and there.
The key is- in PHP 90% of the real low end stuff is dealt with. Once
you jump into the mud, you'll quickly learn how to swim.
