Interesting info. Know of any other big-name sites that use PHP?

In prelim discussions about a job the IT manager for a potential client of mine wrote back to me saying

"We have concerns with (your companies) "shareware" backend nature
in terms of lack of business support and acceptance.
We believe the market is moving away from this and towards
the "licencable" components due to issues with standards and support.
We do not wish to become involved in discussions as to whether
this may be for the right or wrong reasons, the reality is
that it is occurring, and if we wish to align ourselves
with industry standards, this is undoubtedly the path the
mainstream has selected."

Then went on to suggest we port to ASP and COM... oh well, after investigation i found that the reasoning seems to be "Nobody else on the Terrace uses it." (The Terrace is the main business st in Perth). Im not really interested in arguing about it but it would be good to drop a few Altavista and Amazons during our next meeting.
