I second that, at this point, what Manuel should do is to continue to
develop his Metabase program to make it the best choice for the users
community.

Manuel,
Methinks though doth protest too much.
You have the right to create your own database abstraction layer and promote
it, just like Stig or Rasmus or anyone else has the right to create there
own package and promote it as much as they want.
Also, both packages are free, if I decide to create something that you've
already created am I going to get flack from you for not just using your
product?
People have different opinions on how things should be done, that's how
progress occurs. No one is under any obligation to use your database
package.
Should we be criticizing you for creating Metabase? Should I be saying hey
Manuel, your not out for the best needs of the PHP community because you
decided not to contribute to DB.php but instead create your own database
independent API, Metabase.
I hope this discussion doesn't go on longer. Manuel, I like you and many of
your scripts, I think your site is a great contribution to the PHP
community, however, I'm tired of having to delete these messages over and
over again. At least just agree to disagree and stop criticizing DB.php on
the mailing list, it really doesn't do the community any good.
Respectfully Yours,
Sterling Hughes
