[PHP3] oracle on separate Db server From: Alex Black (enigma <email protected>)

hi,

I am having trouble getting php 3 con compile with oracle on a separate
machine.

I have a webserver cluster which will be running PHP, and a DB machine
running oracle.

Following is the first build command I issued:
./configure
--with-apache=../apache_1.3.12
--enable-track-vars
--with-oracle

...that build command didn't error. I rebuilt & reinstalled Apache, but
nada related to oracle was found in phpinfo.

any ideas?

the problem is that orable home is insignificant if the oracle installation
is somewhere else, but it seems to be required for ./configure :(

help!

and I promise to publish a detailed account of my travails with PHP/oracle
so people with similar problems don't have to experience similar pain :)
