In any case, I think the main design change is that Apache 2 will be
multi-process & multi-threaded. This will allow it to keep the stability of
not dying completely if one process dies but will enjoy the performance
boost of multi-threaded servers. So we're lucky PHP 4 is multi-threaded
because PHP 3 will probably be a no-no on Apache 2 although there probably
will be an option not to run multi-threaded.
