I have some experience building the beta4. I think I did all the steps
correctly & tried them again a second time to be sure, but I still get:

Make: Cannot open /dcis/php/php-4.0RC1/build/./config_vars.mk. Stop.

Anyone know why this might be happening?

I am on Digital UNIX V4.0F (Rev. 1229)
