Zend Conference Schedule Posted
Zend has finalized the schedule for the upcoming conference to be held October 30-November 2, 2006 in San Jose, CA. This year's theme is "Creating Modern Web Applications with PHP", and there is a whole host of awesome topics, including various tutorials, sessions on using PHP with web services, general PHP development, and PHP in the corporate environment. The speaker's lineup is equally as impressive. For a complete list, visit the Conference site. Early bird registration is over September 15, so take advantage of that while you still can.
Host of Helpful VIM Tips
Tobias Schlitt was generous enough to bring together some of his favorite VIM tips and tricks and put them all together in a nice neat tidy blog post: http://schlitt.info/applications/blog/. Topics include next occurrence of a word, find matching brace, repeat the last change, enhanced functionality with external programs, indenting and unindeting, remote file editing, recover the last visual selection, grep within VIM, and many more, so if you're a VIM user- check it out. Thanks Toby!

Nexen.net has released the PHP usage stats for August, 2006. Not surprisingly the adoption of PHP 5.x is increasing, while the use of 4.x is going down slowly but surely. PHP currently resides on almost 35% of all websites surveyed. To see the full report from Damien Seguy, go to the Nexen website.
